A friend once remarked that I exist at the nexus of two radically different worlds — meditation/yoga and global business.
I was certified as an Instructor of Yoga in 2008 and taught at World Yoga Center for 8 years.
In Yoga as a Portal Into Meditation on my yoga site, I write about my experience in World Yoga Center’s rigorous Teacher Training. Rudrani Farbman Brown, my first teacher and mentor, is a legendary Teacher of the physical practice of yoga, the wisdom of yoga, meditation and self-inquiry.
From 2008 until 2023, I studied and practiced deeply with celebrated master of meditation and nondual philosophy, Sally Kempton. Sally was also my mentor and a profound influence on both my practice and teaching.
For a more comprehensive summary of my training and influences, see my yoga site.
In 2016, I started teaching private therapeutic yoga and meditation classes. A few years later, during the global pandemic, I taught yoga therapeutics in the office of my therapeutics mentor, Dr. Loren Fishman.
In the corporate space, I was featured as a speaker on Meditation and Mindfulness in the Age of Volatility at the Association for Financial Professional’s annual event in San Diego.
Dr. Roger Walsh, Professor of Psychiatry and wellbeing expert, recommends we ask this question: What is the most strategic contribution I can make?
For me, it’s to use strategic communications to help deserving organizations create change on a large scale. It’s also to share the meditation and mindfulness practices that help us thrive during challenging times.
